Corinthia Nevskij Palace, a modern international five-star hotel is the result of the renovation of two historic 19th century buildings in the heart of Saint-Petersburg on the city`s main boulevard, Nevsky Prospect. The award-winnig refurbishment was completed in the spring of 1993 and the hotel was opened for business on May 1st. It combines two buildings, a neo-classical mansion built by Arthur Lange in 1861 and the former home of the Samoilov family which overlooks Stremyannaya street. The main building housed the Hotel Hermes from 1920 to 1957 and the Baltiiskaya Hotel from 1958 to 1989. Retainig its classic facade, the interior was completely rebuilt offering a fine blend of art deco and modern facilities.
